This is my Intermediate 2 Expressive Final. For school, basically. XD This is the crap that took me like 2 full days to do. I hate the cloth! Urgh. I'm proud of SOME of it, but some bits are so obviously WRONG (Eg: The shadow under the bridge. It's like, why?!). Anyway. Urgh.

I think it looks good.. The cloth isn't as strong as it could have been, but the violin is outstanding. Great work

Very, very nice. The violin looks a little warped in the middle - probably because of the bridge thing and the way the far side recedes - but you really nailed the sheen on the sides and around the F hole. I'm v. impressed. Did you do this in colored pencil?

XD I accidentally didn't post this as a reply to yours before, Isis. But anyway:

(Jun 17th) Thanks so much for your comment! Yeah, I did it in coloured pencils, with just graphite for the paper and the background because I was lazy. XD I totally agree with you on the warpyness - it's quite an awkward thing for me to draw. :]

hey, i think it's great! the cloth's just fiiine... plus the violin looks especially awesome and i like the crumpled paper. i thought it was a photograph at first :D

OH MY GOD that's the first time anyone's said that about anything I've drawn XD Thank you! But I disagree on the cloth front :p It could have been farr better. Thanks :D

Positive crit point: Nice shading on the side of the violin, it really looks rounded and 3D.

Negative crit point: I think the shadows on the drape background should be deeper. The violin loses its weight/gravity as it is and seems to go flat because it isn't really interacting with the background. You wanted to draw the violin and you didn't want to draw the cloth, and the background suffered as a result.

Reason: I drew the fiddle in January and the background in March, just before it was due, in about a day. Yeah, deadlines are not my friend.
XD You're right about everything. It probably would have helped if I'd done the background in coloured pencils too, but I was worried about the unruboutableness of them as opposed to graphite. :D Thanks for the comment!
